The exposition continues to run hard and fast as High Priest Caiaphas dodges questions and impedes the Sev Files investigation. The prophecies referred to are from Isaiah 53 (the suffering servant). I've been informed by some Jewish readers that the Jewish view of the Messiah isn't of someone sent to die for people's sins. I don't know why I was so surprised - that was the same view commonly held around Jesus' time. This cartoon was archived on 2003-03-21.
