Universal translators, babel fish, translator microbes or whatever you want to call them - are problematic at best. Setting aside issues such as inter-species vocabulary inconsistencies, translating brand new languages and lip syncing (which we've covered in earlier Sev Trek cartoons), one question that remains unanswered is why when an alien cusses, it translates the rest of their sentence but leaves the swear words in alien language.
