In the first Terminator movie, just one terminator got through with the mission to kill Sarah Connor before the time machine was destroyed. Then in the sequel, another got through assigned to protect her. Then in the TV series, the time travel traffic is bumper to bumper as terminators are popping up all over the place, stockpiling material, infiltrating government bureaucracies, some even finding the time to try and kill John Connor.
