Dr Joe emailed me about a contest by the Union of Concerned Scientists for cartoons on how the US government is interfering with scientists. I tried writing a cartoon as it's a subject close to my heart only to find you have to live in the USA to enter. Well, I drew it anyway - as a Sev Space cartoon, it doesn't touch science fiction/fantasy in the traditional sense but well, close enough. The winning punchline was submitted by Eric. There were 11 finalist punchlines chosen for this cartoon. You can read the transcript of IRC Judging Session #512 where we decided the winning punchline. This cartoon was archived on 2007-05-27.
