Coming home from school the other day, Gaby excitedly reported to me "Someone exploded Pluto!" When I tried to explain that it was just a case of Pluto no longer being called a planet because it's too small, she insisted "no, it's gone. Carla said so". Apparently Carla (her grade 2 best friend) is a more reliable source of information than her old man. I must say, I was surprised to learn Pluto was kicked off the planet squad. I was even more surprised to learn it's new designation was 'dwarf planet'. I thought they would've gone for a more PC term like 'radially challenged planet'. The winning punchline was submitted by Mark. There were 23 finalist punchlines chosen for this cartoon. You can read the transcript of IRC Judging Session #486 where we decided the winning punchline.
